Vacancy Description:

Our client are a leading M&E contractor specialising in projects across London. They have a cracking portfolio of large schemes working with well-known main contractors, and together we are looking for a Project Manager to join the team to work on a large residential scheme.

The ideal (but not essential) candidate will come from a Mechanical background & will have prior experience working on £10m + projects within the residential sector.

Please note - Our client are open to taking on a Manager on a permanent, freelance or temp-perm basis and can get someone started ASAP!

Main duties:

- Manage and coordinate installation and commissioning of the project's mechanical (plumbing) and electrical requirements
- Ensure the project is thoroughly planned to be completed according to schedule and budget
- Implement and monitor the profitability of the project using appropriate management accounts techniques and communicate the results to the Contracts Manager
- Allocate design and construction contracts, provide project management advice to colleagues and contractors and undertake reviews of design and contract activities
- Ensure compliance with all relevant technical aspects within the construction industry
- Liaise with the Mechanical and Electrical Divisions of the project to ensure successful overall project completion
- Monitor the profitability of contracts using appropriate management accounts techniques and communicate the results to the Contracts Manager
- Liaise effectively with clients, subcontractors and all other parties involved
- Manage labour and subcontractors ensuring compliance with specification and contract documentation
- Audit and prepare on-site quality plans
- Monitor and maintain site HSE requirements
- Establish an effective material stock control and storage system
- Understand the requirements and actions to be taken to test and commission the project
- Post contract completion i.e. clearing site/archiving/financial and practical review/installed drawings and manuals/secure disposal of confidential information and systems
- Arrange on site commissioning and acceptance testing of the equipment
- Produce technical documents to aid in the commissioning process of the project
- Build relationships with all parties involved in the project and maintain effective team communication and cooperation for successful project completion

Experience required:

- Degree educated or equivalent
- Minimum 4 years Mechanical Project Management experience within the residential sector
- Competent in CDM, risk assessment and internal and external auditing
- Valid CSCS/SMSTS or equivalent
- Commercially astute
- Proficient in MS Office and technical drawing skills
