Vacancy Description:

This is an amazing for any ambitious Geotechnical Engineer!!! Our client is a Top 25 Main Contractor with major Construction and Civils projects across the UK. With the size and scale of their projects increasing year on year, we have been asked to supply an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to compliment their Engineering Department. The role carries a great deal scope and will have a massive profile within the business. You will be involved in multiple projects from award stage through to site / resource set up.

Responsibilities:

- Supporting Bid / Tender preparation with any geotechnical input required.
- Project management of ground investigation contracts in the Residential, Commercial, Industrial and Infrastructure sectors.
- On-site supervision of investigation works.
- Factual and interpretative report writing.
- Setting up of Engineering Resource on site in conjunction with Project Engineers.
- Periodic site inspections to ensure quality control and geotechnical standards are being met.

Experience required:

- Degree educated - Geology, Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology (or other relevant subject).
- Soil logging to Eurocode 7 / BS 5930 essential.
- Experience with supervising drilling rigs and various site investigation techniques.
- Experience with scheduling laboratory tests.
- Competent in geotechnical design for deep and shallow foundations, basements, slopes, earthworks, ground improvement and retaining walls.
- Proficiency in geotechnical design software desirable – (e.g. pdsip software).
- Experience writing ground movement analysis reports - desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- Robust understanding of relevant legislation, technical guidance & codes of practice.
