Vacancy Description:

Our client is a leading main contractor with high profile projects throughout the UK and internationally. They are currently building a number of Mixed-Use developments across London and we have been asked to appoint a Design Coordinator to join the team on a one year fixed term contract.

Design Coordinator Responsibilities:

- The Design Coordinator reports into the Retail Delivery Manager, but has a functional reporting line, to the Senior Retail Project Managers at each location.
- Attend pre-start meetings, when required, to discuss outstanding items with the contractor in an effort to provide clarity on missing information, support on any queries, and efficiency in the review process.
- Attend weekly meetings to update on progress of design reviews.
- Must be able to proactively manage their workload and build relationships with the Senior Managers.
- Monitoring the design proposals against fit out progress on site
- Assist with the data input and maintenance of the Project Tracker for each project and to monitor submissions and incomplete information.
- Be the main point of contact for all retailers to submit their detailed design drawings.
- Review fit out proposals received from contractors/design team to ensure adequacy in conjunction with the internal and external review teams
- Check complete and adequate information is obtained from the tenant/contractors. Checking drawing numbers on the Landlord Review Sheet correlate with the drawings submitted for review
- Manage the flow of information on the internal document management system, coordinate responses back from internal disciplines and feedback to retailers design team

Design Coordinator Experience Required:

- A stable track record with experience working within in the UK Retail Design and Construction Industry.
- A familiarity with design drawings and documentation
- An understanding of document control
- Experience with Design information for small / Medium sized projects
- Use of Recognised Document Management Systems
